Wind Damage Affecting Even the Basement

This home went through a storm that brought also brought a tornado. Not only did the home suffer from wind damage that affected the upstairs, the basement was even affected because of debris that had fallen through the floor. 

Even though it is an unfinished basement with a concrete floor, drying still needed to occur. Why are the airmovers directed up toward the ceiling instead of drying the floor? Because the concrete was already almost completely dry. However, the subfloor of the main level was wet, so in order to aid the drying of the water damage on the first floor, we placed drying equipment in the basement so that drying could occur on both sides of the floor.
